Other Possible Uses for a $12,000 machine
I can not justify buying a $12,000 machine right now unless I can identify other uses for it. But if it does what it’s stated to I can see a myriad of uses for it that I might be able to us to justify purchases.
PVC Nipple Making in Dark Grey
Making the uPVC nipples for global needs for my stands would be an exceptional use for it - but that becomes an entire business for just one component.
For that business there are several more issues: 1) Getting unmarked pipe 2) cutting the pipe to length for the nipples and managing the dust from pvc cutting 3) running the machine
I can’t justify it now. However if I could find resellers and retailers who might buy dark gray nipples from me that might justify the business. I’d imagine most of them currently buy from Tomeex and at very low prices -- or place custom orders with others with a comparable high speed machine, so unsure if that is viable for add on revenue.
PVC Nipple Making in any color and any length in bulk for 1/2” and 3/4” pvc and possible others smaller (if it exists) and larger...
Making the uPVC nipples for global needs for other applications that I or other fabricators create is a market that does NOT exist today. Fabricators can create small kits (like erector sets) for thinks like “wind mills” or “paddle wheels” for fun or functional use -- and then order nipples from us in any length and color. We would need to be near vendors who have multiple colors in small sizes to keep the shipping costs down.
And what is that???
Metal Nipple making in 3/8” and 1/4” black and galvanize
There is currently no reliable/ affordable vendor for 3/8” or 1/4” black pipe or galvanized nipples in the US that im aware of (double check)
Some fittings can be found in ACE hardware (see image to right), but not Home Depot and Lowes (double check). Surly that is a product that can be used to build smaller structural items (towel bars, small grab bars, other).
small model frames for small robotic dune buggies, for example...
Nipple making with 1/2” and 3/4” EMT (and copper)?
In the US we use fittings for all EMT (electrical conduit) . if it is threaded it’s too small for NPT females but there are videos saying it’s not?
Some are in Europe. This may be another application for this... but if they don’t fit standard NPT or BPS threads it’s not as valuable.
Deburring of EMT and other material after cut to length on carbide saw ? ( ATTENTION HERE )
If we discovered this could deburr EMT at a high rate of speed, that plays into my production needs NOW, not later. I’m currently trying to develop other systems to do that at a higher rate of speed right now..
I am setting up a workstation for Gang cutting EMT. All cuts need to be deburred.
there is and inside and outside cutter that works and there is an synthetic product I have jigged up that is from rigid that has lifetime warranty for manual use...
